【解说】安提西尼讲学的竞技场叫cynosarges，和希腊文cynicus（像狗的）一字相似，故被讥为「犬儒」学派。留意school除了指学校，也可以指学术或艺术派别，例如：iprefertheclassicalschoolofpainting（我喜欢古典画派）。
今天，你不必懂得安提西尼的学说，也可以是个cynic。这个字常用来说愤世嫉俗、事事抱嘲讽态度的人，形容词是cynical，例如：he is a cynic who believes that no presidential candidates are inspired by any lofty motives （ 他 任 何 事 都 不 往 好 处 看 ， 认 为 总 统 候 选 人 没 有 一 个 抱 崇 高 理 想 ） 。
