austrian general raimund montecuccoli, noted for his military exploits in the thirty years wars （ 1618-1648 ） , was a pious catholic. stopping one friday evening at an inn, the general ordered an omelette with a little ham sliced up in it. as the dish was presented to him, there was a sudden clap of thunder and a storm began. without a second thought the general got up, went to the window and threw the ham omelette out into the rain. looking up at the storm clouds overhead he commented, "what a lot of fuss over a piece of ham."
三 十 年 战 争 （ 一 六 一 八 年 至 一 六 四 八 年 ） 之 中 ， 奥 地 利 将 领 赖 蒙 德 ． 蒙 泰 库 科 利 战 功 彪 炳 ， 名 震 一 时 。 他 是 位 虔 诚 天 主 徒 ， 一 个 星 期 五 晚 上 ， 到 客 栈 投 宿 ， 要 一 个 炒 蛋 ， 蛋 中 杂 少 许 碎 火 腿 。 炒 蛋 端 上 时， 忽 然 雷 声 大 作 ， 风 暴 降 临 。 蒙 泰 库 科 利 毫 不 犹 豫 站 起 来 ， 走 到 窗 前 ， 把 火 腿 炒 蛋倒 在 雨 中 ， 抬 头 望 满 天 乌 云 说 ： 「 不 过 一 片 火 腿 罢 了 ， 怎 么 这 样 小 题 大 做 。 」
