特拉法加广场上，一个十八岁左右的美丽姑娘「不鞋不袜」，提起裙脚，走进喷泉戏水。两个年轻军官卷起裤管，也走进喷泉里，抱起那姑娘，爬到喷泉顶端，并获那姑娘亲吻。英国电影新闻公司摄影记者拍下了这一刻。人群中一个年纪大一点的女人说：「她母亲见到这些照片，不骂她才怪。」
